Bringing the Bible to life for kids can be a hard thing to do. Sure, there are many “Bible cartoons” out there, but we have to be careful not to teach our children that we get our Bible knowledge from the television. This is where the Planet 316 Story Bible and the companion Planet 316 Story Bible App from Planet 316 and WorthyKids/Ideals is set apart.
Instead of looking to the TV for Bible stories, they come from an actual Bible.

There are two components here. The Planet 316 Story Bible and the app (available in the App Store or Google Play). Once you download the free app, you simply hold your device over the pictures and they come to life! The images pop off the pages and have background sounds and dialog.
You can see an example featuring Eve below.

Eve, the tree, and the serpent all literally pop off the page.
The Story Bible
The Story Bible features over 100 stories from both the Old and New Testaments.

What we like most about the Story Bible:
- The sturdy hardcover is perfect for little hands. It has already been dropped several times and shows no signs of wear.
- All 300 pages of the book are full color.
- There are no ridiculously strong heroes. I once saw a Bible storybook that portrayed Paul as what I can only equate to a gladiator. It was absurd. He had long flowing hair with ripped arms and abs (yes, he was shirtless.) You’ll find none of that nonsense in this book, and for that I’m thankful.
- The stories are 1-6 pages in length, with the longer ones having full pictures on every other page. This is the perfect length for young children. We can easily read a story or two during breakfast.
- It’s written in child-friendly language, which makes it great for read alouds or emerging readers.
- There is a regular table of contents in the front as well as a topical table of contents in the back. Looking for a story about Passover? No problem! You’ll find them on pages 82, 196, 246, 250, and 254.

I almost think the kids see it as some kind of video game or something. Anyway, obviously, my young children (4, 6, and 7) are completely taken with this Bible. Well done Planet 316!
