Homeschool Valentine Swap

When I was in school, I remember awaiting the annual Valentine’s Day party with great anticipation. We made special mailboxes in class to use on the day of the party. I loved picking out Valentines cards for my classmates and a few special gifts for my best friends.

Until recently, it had not occurred to me that my own children, who are homeschooled, have not known the joys of the class Valentine’s Day party. About the same time as my epiphany, a fellow Crewbie offered to do a homeschool Valentine swap. What perfect timing! About 13 families (32 children) signed up to send valentines to each other.

Having three of my own children sign up, we got to work creating 32 cards from each child. Yes, that’s a lot of cards.

It took a while, and created quite a mess, but we had fun!!

These were the end results. Each family will get a box containing some candy hearts, smarties, glow sticks and of course Valentine cards. Homeschool Valentine Swap

The homeschool Valentine swap was a great success! We’ve ready begun receiving cards from some of the other families. This kids love getting things in the mail.

This was such a great idea and one I’m sure we will repeat for years to come!
